By JenRene Owens
JenRene Owens is an aspiring writer, educator, speaker, and friend to many, but mostly she is a ‘Child of the King’. She has chosen her pen name as “JenRene” for her book and blog, but is also known as Jennifer Rene Owens.
Jennifer’s personal testimony of growing up in an alcoholic home, having struggled with major depression, and experiencing God’s love thorough a failed marriage and restoration through a new marriage, has given her a very intimate experience with God’s amazingly divine sovereignty and His unconditional love. Her walk with God became “very intentional”. After experiencing such hardship, and after seeking God’s face during this rough time, it eventually brought her great reward. So much so, … it has shifted her perspective on most things in life. Through Red Sea Situations…God has put His love on display, through her life and testimony of His Amazing Grace.
Jennifer began this blog and website as inspiration for those who endure unexpected hardship and pain and need the extra strength gained from experiences that add character and courage to their lives. Her soon to be released book: titled “Red Sea Situations” has plans for a 2010 release. ‘Red Seas’ was inspired during a time of spiritual hardship ~ when God revealed His true nature to JenRene. From her very intimate writing experiences, God has chosen to use these precious moments to bring others close to Him as well.
Jennifer loves community and family. She has consulted in the area of family development and preservation on several occasions as a professional, to domestic violence agencies, youth centers and churches. In addition, she has held community leadership forums and family conferences in Syracuse, New York and currently runs in Texas a life team for parents called Kingdom Based Parenting. In 2003 she traveled to South Africa and spoke at the town hall in Kuma South Africa, visited shantytowns and spoke to youth and developed a community agenda for leaders in Kuma. She has led a community leadership groups and seminars in Klerksdorp South Africa; developed a manual for a family resiliency program for churches and conducted youth dialogue sessions for youth in-school in Sharpeville, South Africa.
Professionally, she is co-owner of The Owens Group Training and Development ~ (www.owensgrouptraining.com). She and her husband, Timothy Owens own a training and development business in which they teach on various leadership topics and consult businesses about how to develop their teams in Denton, TX. They also teach youth and families in the Dallas /Ft Worth area. Her female group is called “Woman Enough”. She gains great pleasure in teaching the girls about life, responsibility, self respect and relationships. She created the curriculum for this teen group and also works as a consultant to families in the field of geriatric social work.
Jennifer has been a diversity trainer and member of the National Coalition Building Institute for several years. Her leadership skills have been recognized in the community, and in 2003 she won the YWCA Leadership Award in Central New York.
Jennifer is a graduate of Cazenovia College, in Cazenovia N.Y. , State University of New York (SUNY) Brockport and received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Howard University, in Washington, D.C.

I am sooooooooooooooooooo proud of you. I remeber years ago, you were issue with your car and what has stuck with me for the last 17 years since, is instead of you becomming angry you just calmly said, “I guess God just wants more glory”. You gave him the glory through tribulations and he is truly rewarding you. You set a fabulous example. Many blessings to you. Love Whit

Whitney, I actually recall that time. Actually God did get more glory! For the uniformed… my car caught on fire and I had no other way to get around. My reaction to that situation caused God to move mightily on my behalf! I was offered not one, but TWO cars to use, and one of them was a brand new car a friend offered me for two weeks because she was going out of town. The other was a spare car to drive, until mine got fixed! Definitely a time when I was experiencing a Red Sea Situation in my life. Wow.. God is good if He still reminds you of such a time! You continue to let your light shine.
Praise Him! ~ JenRene
